Balinese Lunch

In our Balinese tradition, the Man of the House will cook up a storm the day before big ceremony day. For me, my Dad cooked much better than my Mom for this kind of dish (sorry Mum *winks*). I'm drooling (again) whenever I see this photo, miss home, miss Bali, miss my Parents *homesick-now*

Captured clockwise : steamed rice, lawar kacang (string bean), lawar nyuh (coconut), sate muluk & sate lilit (pork satay).

Celebrating Kuningan

My Mom and I, originally uploaded by CupCakes Frenzy.

Once every six months I tried to go home to Bali to visit my Parents and making sure my daughter brushing-up her Indonesian with the family. This time around was a quick decision though, current political situation in Bangkok somewhat speed -up the whole process, here I am home and chatting away with my Mom *so happy*

My daughter remember everything as if she has never left Bali, she run to her swing, picking up Mango on the lower branch in our land, play tug of war with her cousins and speaking Bahasa Indonesia without hesitation, I'm so proud of her.

On the day of the ceremony we all dressed up and went to the Temple, funny enough Little Miss wants to stay in her outfit the whole day !!!

Bird House Visitor

Squirrel

When we came to our house here in Bangkok for the first time, we saw the squirrels jumping from one tree to another, it was nature at it's best !
That's it, we found the perfect house, love the green surrounding, sounds of birds chirping and the cute squirrels, right in the middle of the city.
Then we got the bird house couple weeks after we moved in,
I put piece of bread (birds like 'em), banana and (today for the first time) mango.
It was a big hit for the squirrel !
They don't even run away when I capture them enjoying the fruit (this little buddy was 3rd visitors of the day, they have different shade of fur colors too), isn't he cute ?
